NCC Academy to be set up in Government College, Gharunda

Haryana Chief Minister  Manohar Lal  has approved the proposal to set up  a NCC Academy in Government College, Gharunda in district Karnal.Both the State and the Central Governments have also accorded approval to set up a NCC Girls Battalion in Nuh, Mewat.  
          While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Higher Education Department said that Haryana Government has started the process to fill up vacant posts of different categories in the Department. More than 1.58 lakh students have so far been benefitted to the tune of over Rs 83 crore under various incentive based  scheme during the year 2015-16.
He said that apart from this, process has been initiated to fill up 1647 vacant posts of  Assistant Professors as the Higher Education Department has already sent  requisition for the same to the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC). He said that requisitions have also been sent to the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) to fill  up the vacant posts of 82 Clerks, 14 Assistants and 118 posts of Class-IV employees. Also,   requisition will soon be  sent to the HSSC for filling up the vacancies of  61 Junior Lecturer Assistant (J.L.A), 10 Hostel Superintendents and 91 Lab Attendants.
          He said that the refreshment allowance of NCC cadets has been increased from Rs six to Rs 25 per prade.He said that messing allowance admissible to ANOs for Pre Commission Courses (PRCN), Refresher Course, and Training Courses has been increased from existing Rs. 65 to Rs. 213 per head per day. Similarly, the messing allowance of NCC Cadets for various camps has been increased from the existing   Rs. 80 to Rs. 95 per head per day and messing allowance to Associate NCC Officers for various camps has been raised  from the existing Rs. 80 to Rs. 100 per head per day.
He said that during the tenure of the present State Government, five new Government Colleges that is Government College, Bhuna in district  Fatehabad, Government College for Women, Punhana in district Mewat, Government College, Kheri Gujran in district Faridabad, Government College for Women, Ateli in Mahendergarh and Government College for Women, Sirsa have been started . Also, the Government has approved to set up 14 new Government Colleges   at  Aleva, Manesar, Uklana, Gulha Cheeka, Shehzadpur, Zundala, Kurukshetra, Kuruthala, Kanina, Sonepat, Chillaro, Kalanwali, Mohna and Rania.
He said that during the financial year 2015-16, a budget provision  of Rs 100 crore had been made  for construction of  buildings for government colleges and hostels. Also Rs two crore were earmarked  for strengthening and maintenance of infrastructure in government colleges.
The spokesman said that during the year 2015-16, out of the allocated budget of  Rs 100 crore , administrative approval of  Rs 317.85 lakh each has been accorded to Government  College, Bhatu Kalan Fatehabad, Government College, Loharu, Bhiwani, Government College for Women, Faridabad, Government College, Tauru, Mewat, Government College, Matak Majri, Karnal, Government College, Sector-9, Gurgaon and  Government  College, Tigaon in district Faridabad, Government Colleges for Women, Hisar,Murthal, Bhodia  Khera and Government College, Ratia in district Fatehabad for construction of Science Blocks.
          He said that  for the construction of college buildings, Rs 12 crore each have been approved for the Government College for Women Alewa  in district Jind, Government College, Uklana in district Hisar,  Government College for Women, Cheeka and Government College for Women, Ateli.
Apart from this, a sum of Rs five crore each has been approved for Government College for Women, Sector-14 Gurgaon and Government College for Women, Sector-14, Panchkula for the construction of hostel. A sum of  Rs 60.55 lakh has been approved for Government College, Matak Majri for repair of building. He said that under the scheme for strengthening and maintenance of infrastructure, the Principals of Government Colleges have been authorized to carry out construction works costing upto Rs. 20 lakh in their respective colleges at their own level.
The State Government has made concerted efforts to attract the students towards higher education. Many schemes of scholarship, incentives and stipends have been implemented by the Government to provide financial assistance to students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and Scheduled  Tribes and also meritorious students pursuing higher education so as to enable them to complete their education.
