CHANDIGARH, FEB 1
The  Haryana Government has decided to conduct a two-week accounts training course for Drawing and Disbursing Officers of government colleges and Universities in the State from February 8 to 19, 2016.
While stating this here today, Haryana Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma, said that it would help in  preventing cases of fraud and embezzlement. He said that during this course, at least two officers, who are presently working as Drawing and Disbursing Officers, would be imparted training in modern techniques of accounting.
The Minister said that  synchronizing with Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Digital India’, the State Government was committed to bringing in transparency in the system by implementing modern technology in every branch of   Education Department and making more use of Information Technology. He said that it was necessary to introduce new techniques in the Treasuries and Accounts Department and related works. This would not only make the work of accounts officers faster and transparent, but would also reduce possibilities of bungling of accounts, he added.
