17 new girls colleges from coming academic session

CHANDIGARH, MARCH 18
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that 17 new girls’ colleges would be started in the State from the coming academic session. The Chief Minister was speaking during the Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.
        He said that mapping work had been carried out in the entire State to ensure that girls’ colleges should be located within a 20-km radius of any place in Haryana. He said that six new girls’ colleges have been opened after this mapping and 17 girls’ college would be opened from coming session.
 METALLED ROADS IN VILLAGES: Haryana Agriculture Minister  O.P. Dhankar, said that wherever the width of path in rural areas is less at site, if the farmers want to get these paths metalled by giving their land,   these would be made pucca according to the policy of the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB).
        Mr. Dhankar was replying to a question by MLA, Mr. Pawan Saini, during the Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.
        The Minister said that farmers were face transport-related difficulty in taking their produce to the market due to narrow paths in rural areas. Therefore, there is a need to widen these paths and make them pucca. Mr. Dhankar said that further action would be started after farmers give affidavit in regard to giving their land for widening of paths.
377.54 CRORE RECOVERED: The Haryana Chief  Minister said that Rs 377.54 crore have been recovered as liquidated damages from M/S Reliance Energy Limited Company for delayed completion of the Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Plant at Khedar in district Hisar.
        The Chief Minister was replying to a question by Leader of opposition, Mr. Abhay Singh Chautala, during the Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.
        He said that liquidated damages have been fully recovered. Apart from this, the machines were repaired by the contractor at their cost from time to time prior to final taking over of the plant.      
ADMINSTRATIVE CONTROL:  Haryana Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said that three Government universities,19 private universities and one Central university of the state are under the administrative control of Higher Education Department.
          Mr Sharma was replying to a question raised during the ongoing Haryana Vidhan Sabha session here today.
          He said that there are two Government universities and three private universities in Sonipat. Similarly, there are eight private universities in Gurgaon, one each private university in Ambala, Kaithal and Palwal, one each Government university in Sirsa, Kurukshetra, Rewari, Jind and Bhiwani. He said that there are a Government University as well as  a private university in Rohtak. Similarly, two each private universities are in Jhajjar and Faridabad.
7.80 CRORE FOR BETI BACHAO:  Haryana Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain said that a budget provision of Rs 7.80 crore had been provided under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao programme in 2015-16.
          Mrs Kavita Jain was replying to a question raised during the ongoing session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.
          She said that a budget provision of Rs 65.01 lakh each has been provided to 12 districts with poor sex-ratio in the state. She said that activity wise budgetary provision per district was Rs 22 lakh for Outreach Activities, Rs 10 lakh for Innovation, Rs six lakh for Training and Capacity Building or Sensitization Programme, Rs 5.91 lakh for Flexi fund, Rs five lakh for Inter-sectoral Consultation and Meetings, Rs five lakh each for Sectoral activities of Ministry of Humar Resource Development and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Rs 3.1 lakh for Monitoring and Evaluation and  Rs three lakh for Documentation.
REVENUE COLLECTION FROM SALE OF DIESEL:  Haryana Excise and Taxation Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu said that the state government has collected revenue of Rs 4,922.74 crore from sale of diesel from October 2014 to February 2016 by imposing VAT or surcharge.
          Capt. Abhimanyu was replying to a question during the ongoing Haryana Vidhan Sabha Session here today.
          He said that in October 2014, the rate of tax on diesel was 8.8 per cent, the effective rate was 9.24 per cent including surcharge of five per cent on tax payable. On November 26,2014, the rate of tax on diesel was revised to 11.5 per cent, the effective rate is 12.075 per cent including surcharge. Similarly, on July 16,2015, the rate of tax on diesel was again revised from 11.5 per cent to 16.4 per cent, the effective rate is 17.22 per cent including surcharge.
