School Education Board releases schedule for admission

CHANDIGARH, MARCH 11
 Haryana School Education Department has released the schedule for admission in Class I under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, and admission in Classes II to VIII under Rule-134-A of the Haryana School Education Rules, 2003, amended in 2013, for the academic session of 2016-17.
          While disclosing the schedule of admission here today, a spokesman of the Department said that applications for admission in Cass 1 could be submitted to the District Elementary Educational Officer (DEEO) concerned from March 22 to 31, 2016 in online or offline mode. He said that applications could be forwarded to government schools for admission from April 4 to 8, 2016.
          He said that as per the amended Rule-7 of the Haryana Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2011, amended in 2015, admission to the children belonging to weaker sections and disadvantaged groups in Class I under the RTE Act up to 25 per cent of the strength of students, is to be given preferably in government and government-aided private schools. He said that in the event of non-availability of seats in these schools, the parents of the children could apply to the DEEO concerned for admission in a school belonging to specified category and in an un-aided private recognised school. The names of the eligible children would be recommended by the DEEO concerned to the school belonging to specified category and un-aided private recognised schools on the basis of draw of lots, which would be conducted on April 11, 2016.
          The spokesman said that for admission in Classes II to VIII, an advertisement regarding admission in private recognised schools for the children belonging to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Below Poverty Line (BPL) categories would be published in leading newspapers latest by March 18, 2016 and the publication of district and block level committees by March 28, 2016.
          He said that the private recognised schools would display the vacancies on the notice board by March 25, 2016. Applications could be made online or offline from March 29 to April 8, 2016. The data entry, scrutiny and assessment of applications would be done from April 9 to 12, 2016. Lists of applicants would be published by school and block education officers on April 12, 2016. Draw of lots at block level would be conducted on April 18, 2016, which could be continued to the next day, if necessary. Admissions would be done on the basis of draw of lots from April 18 to 25, 2016.
          He said that the second draw of lots for the remaining seats would be conducted on April 26, 2016. Admissions would be done on the basis of second draw of lots from April 26 to April 29, 2016. If seats remain vacant even after the second round, schools would submit their list to district level committees before April 30, 2016.
          He said that the schools failing to comply with the provisions of Rule 134-A of the Haryana School Education Rules 2003, amended in 2013, would be subjected to withdrawal of recognition by the Department under the relevant rules on the recommendations of the district level committee. Any aggrieved person could submit his or her complaint before district level committees or block level committee, he added.
