Arrival of wheat in Haryana mandis touches highest ever mark


CHANDIGARH, APRIL 19
 Wheat arrival in the mandis of Haryana has touched the highest ever mark of 48,76,910 Metric Tonnes (MT). As compared to it, only 9,44,520 MT of wheat had arrived in the mandis during the corresponding period last year.
        While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that the procurement process was running smoothly in the mandis of the State.
        He said that out of the total arrival, 48,76,660 MT have been purchased by the government procurement agencies at Minimum Support Price.
Giving details of the wheat procured by government agencies, he said that more than 13.23 lakh MT of wheat has been procured by Food and Supplies Department, whereas HAFED has purchased 16.76 lakh MT of wheat. He said that Food Corporation of India has purchased 5.40 lakh MT of wheat, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation has purchased 4.41 lakh MT, and 8.93 lakh MT of wheat have been procured by Haryana Warehousing Corporation. He said that apart from this, 250 MT of wheat have been procured by traders.
He said that district Sirsa was leading in wheat arrival where more than 5.52 lakh MT have so far arrived in the mandis. District Karnal has recorded arrival of more than 5.41 lakh MT, district Kaithal more than 5.26 lakh MT, district Jind had more than 5.24 lakh MT, district Kurukshetra received more than 3.89 lakh MT, district Fatehabad more than 3.52 lakh MT and district Hisar has recorded arrival of more than 3.01 lakh MT. Similarly, district Sonepat has recorded arrival of more than 2.76 lakh MT of wheat, district Palwal more than 2.30 lakh MT, district Panipat more than 2.20 lakh MT, district Ambala 1.82 lakh MT, district Rohtak more than 1.68 lakh MT, district Yamunanagar more than 1.29 lakh MT and district Bhiwani 1.21 lakh MT. District Jhajjar has recorded arrival of 98,937 MT wheat, district Faridabad 84,374 MT, district Mewat 55,349 MT, district Gurgaon 48,406 MT, district Rewari 32,677 MT, Narnaul 22,916 MT and in Panchkula 17,807 MT of wheat has so far arrived in the mandis.
