CHANDIGARH, MAY 11
A total of 1,378 nominations were filed yesterday, the fourth day of filing of nomination papers, to contest General Elections to 15 Municipal Councils and 28 Municipal Committees as well as bye-elections in Haryana.
While stating this here today, Haryana State Election Commissioner, Mr Rajeev Sharma said that 793 nominations were filed for elections to the Municipal Councils. These included 41 nominations for Charkhi Dadri, 33 for Fatehabad, 53 for Tohana, 68 for Hansi, 23 for Sohna, 107 for Jind, 48 for Narwana, 88 for Bahadurgarh, 42 for Kaithal, 82 for Thanesar, 43 for Narnaul, 79 for Palwal, 44 for Hodal, nine for Mandi Dabwali and 33 for Gohana.
He said that 579 nominations were filed for elections to Municipal Committees. These included 25 for Naraingarh, 19 for Ratia, 31 for Bhuna, 39 for Barwala, 20 for Jhajjar, 34 for Safidon, 10 each for Uchana and Rajound, 21 for Cheeka, 26 each for Gharunda and Taraori, 18 for Assandh, eight for Nissing, 35 for Shahbad, 17 for Ladwa, 25 for Pehowa, 13 for Mahendergarh, 20 for Nangal Chaudhary, 13 for Ferozepur Jhirka, four for Nuh, eight for Punhana, 44 for Samalkha, 17 for Bawal, 18 for Meham, 12 each for Kalanwali and Ellenabad, 21 for Rania and 33 for Ganaur.
In case of bye election, three nominations each were filed for Municipal Corporation, Panipat and Municipal Council,Rewari he added.
