Regional Symposium on Excellence in Training’

CHANDIGARH, MAY 4
The ‘Regional Symposium on Excellence in Training’ for Civil Servants from Northern India will be organised at Haryana Institute of Public Administration (HIPA), Gurgaon on  May 6. It is for the first time that such a regional symposium is being organised   in Haryana   by HIPA.
          While stating this here today, Director General of HIPA Mr S.P. Gupta said that Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal would inaugurate the symposium.
          He said that it is being sponsored by Department of Personal and Training, Government of India. More than 100 senior civil servants from states of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana will participate in this symposium. Representatives of various organizations including Central Training Institute (CTI), Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Department of Personal and Training (DOPT), and Officers from Haryana Government will also take part in the symposium. Senior IAS Officers, reputed Academicians and representatives of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have been invited to enlighten the participants on various subjects of training. About 16 renowned subject experts who have achieved the mark on their own sheer hard work will be the panelists for the symposium.
          The objective of the Symposium is to encourage Citizen Centric Administration along with Effective Service delivery Mechanism. This endeavor shall provide a platform for better coordination and sharing of good practices in the thematic area in the region, improve service delivery mechanism in training and integrate these learnings from the REST to NSET.
63.33 CRORE COMPENSATION GIVEN: Haryana Government has given a total compensation of Rs 63.33 crore to those persons whose properties have been damaged in the recent agitation in the State. It includes both, the interim as well as final payment.
   While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that private and government insurance companies have also so far made payments amounting to about Rs 12,19,12,657 to those whose insured properties were damaged. He said that the Government has so far received 2,078 claims for compensation, including 1,840 from urban areas and 238 from rural areas.
          He said that Rs 22.37 crore were paid as interim assistance in 1,818 cases. This included payment of Rs 20.83 crore in 1,616 cases in urban areas and Rs 1.54 crore in 202 cases of rural areas. He said that final compensation amounting to Rs 40.96 crore was paid to 1,299 claimants. Rs 38.10 crore was paid to 1,109 claimants in urban areas and Rs 2.86 crore to 190 claimants in rural areas, he added.
