Record attendence at International Yoga Day in Faridabad

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 21
 More than one lakh persons from Haryana today set a new world record by performing yoga together at a district-level function organised in Faridabad on the occasion of ‘International Yoga Day’.
        Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr. Krishan Pal was the chief guest at the programme, which was conducted under the supervision of Yog Guru, Baba Ramdev.
        Speaking on the occasion, National President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Mr. Amit Shah, said that the enthusiasm shown by a large number of people towards yoga indicated the success of the campaign to promote this ancient practice. He said that through the efforts of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, people in 170 countries had adopted yoga as a part of their lives and today, International Yoga Day was being celebrated in 193 countries.
        Haryana state in-charge of Bharatiya Janata Party affairs, Mr. Anil Jain, said that with the efforts of Baba Ramdev, yoga had become the centre of people’s faith throughout the world, and people across the country had become keen to adopt indigenous practices.
        On the occasion, Mr. Amit Shah also released the book entitled ‘Yog Vishwakosh’ penned by Baba Ramdev.
        During the programme, Baba Ramdev led more than one lakh ‘sadhaks’ through various yoga exercises and said that practicing yoga would make the practitioner free from diseases and stress.
        Those present on the occasion included Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Ballabhgarh, Mr. Mool Chand Sharma, MLA, Faridabad, Mr. Vipul Goel, MLA, Faridabad NIT, Mr. Nagender Bhadana, Member, BJP Karyakarini, Mr. Avtar Singh Bhadana, Swami Avdheshanand, Acharya Balkrishna, senior officers of Patanjali Yogpeeth and    prominent people of the area.
