HUDA announces Group Housing Scheme

CHANDIGARH, JULY 27
Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) today announced its Group Housing Scheme with an aim to provide proper shelter to every citizen by providing residential plots of different categories for the various income groups in its   Urban Estates. Besides, it has also taken other significant decisions which included one-time relaxation to owners for obtaining occupation certificate for residential and commercial buildings across the State,  policy guidelines for the nursing homes running from residential premises on 14 Marla plots, conversion of  Shop-cum-Flat (SCF) into Shop-cum-Office (SCO) in HUDA Shopping Centres and revised policy regarding fixing of norms and eligibility for beneficiaries for the allotment of low cost dwelling units constructed by HUDA in its Urban Estates.
          These decision were taken in the   111th meeting of  HUDA  held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal here today.
          As per the Group Housing Scheme,   plots of various sizes available in different Urban Estates would be identified. Out  of available group housing sites, 75 per cent sites would  be included in new group housing scheme of HUDA whereas, the balance 25 per cent sites would  be kept reserved for allotment   for construction of flatted staff colonies of State or Central Government  Departments, their Boards and Corporations and Undertakings. Under the policy, the members should not own any house, flat, plot in their own name or in the name of spouse or dependent children in the same urban estate. The group housing sites in various Urban Estates of HUDA would be sold by e-auction.
          It was also decided in the meeting to give one-time relaxation to owners for obtaining occupation certificate for residential and commercial buildings across the State.  A facility on the lines of the 2001 policy would be given again for residential and commercial buildings for a limited period from August 15 to December 31, 2016 as a good will gesture in the golden jubilee year of the formation of the State. The Chief Minister directed the officers to give vide publicity to this good will gesture so that maximum number of allottees could avail of the benefit.
      The Authority also approved policy guidelines for the nursing homes running from residential premises on 14 Marla plots in those sectors of  HUDA  where there is no provision of one kanal plot. As per the policy, permission would be granted for only those residential premises which are having a minimum size of plot equal to 350 square yards (14 Marla category) and are located on roads having a width of at least 24 meters or widest internal road of the sector in case of urban estates or sectors falling in Hyper or High Potential zones. Whereas, in case of urban estates or sectors falling in Medium and Low potential zones, permission would  be granted for only those residential premises which   have a minimum size of plot equal to 250 square yards ( 10 Marla category) and are located on roads having a width of at least 18 meters.
          In the meeting a proposal was also approved to convert Shop-cum-Flat (SCF) into Shop-cum-Office (SCO) in HUDA Shopping Centres. It was informed in the meeting that there are 1173 SCF sites in various Urban Estates of HUDA and an amount of 190.27 crores is likely to be generated from the conversion of SCFs into SCOs. It was also informed that efforts would be made to increase parking space in the commercial areas of HUDA. Apart from this, multi storey parking may also be developed, If needed, so as to ensure adequate parking spaces in commercial areas.
          Apart from this, the Authority also approved the revised policy regarding fixing of norms and eligibility for beneficiaries for the allotment of low cost dwelling units constructed by HUDA in various Urban Estates in the State. Under the policy, allotment would be given to beneficiaries under Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category of Haryana only with annual income up to Rs three lakh.
     Others present in the meeting included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary Town and Country Planning Department Mr P. Raghvendra Rao, Additional Chief Secretary Power Mr Rajan Gupta, Principal Secretary Urban Local Bodies Department Mr Anil Kumar, Principal Secretary Industries Mr Devender Singh, Chief Administrator HUDA Mr Vikas Gupta, Secretary HUDA Mr Virat and other senior officers of the Government.
