Projects costing Rs 239 crore approved in Haryana

CHANDIGARH, JULY 28
 Projects costing Rs 239 crore were approved  by the State level Sanctioning Committee of Haryana for  National Agriculture Development Scheme (NADS) today.
        The State level Sanctioning Committee for National Agriculture Development Scheme had met under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Mr. D.S. Dhesi here and projects were approved for the year 2016-17.
        The activities to be carried out would  include agricultural water management, promoting cultivation of sugarcane, crop diversification, providing subsidy on distribution of certified seeds of paddy, millet, wheat and barley, and paddy.
        A sum of Rs 45 crore was approved for agricultural water management scheme, Rs 11 crore for promoting cultivation of sugarcane in the State, Rs 56 crore for crop diversification scheme, Rs 34 crore for providing subsidy on distribution of certified seeds of paddy, millet, wheat and barley, Rs nine crore for direct seed    rice scheme and Rs seven crore for fodder development programme. Apart from this, approval was also given to other schemes of Fisheries   and Horticulture Departments of Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.
        Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Finance and Planning, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, ACS, Agriculture, Mr. V.S. Kundu, Principal Secretary, Fisheries, Mr. Anil Malik, Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi and other senior officers of various departments were also present in the meeting.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: The Haryana government has decided to give financial assistance of Rs three lakh in lump sum to the guest teachers appointed in government schools by amending its policy to provide compassionate financial assistance to the family of deceased person working in government Department or Board or Corporation or Public Undertaking under Haryana Government.
          While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the deceased person could be working on adhoc, daily wage, contract basis including the persons working on contract basis through service providing agency.
ALL-PARTY MEETING: The Haryana government has convened an All Party meeting on Haryana Swaran Jayanti Celebrations on July 30 at 5 p.m. at Haryana Niwas, Chandigarh. The meeting will be presided over by Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal.
          While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the Swaran Jayanti celebrations would be held from November 1,2016 to October 31,2017.
YOGENDER MALIK APPOINTED: The Haryana government has appointed Mr. Yogender Malik, Associate Professor, BPS Medical College for Women, Khanpur Kalan, who was earlier appointed as Advisor to Chief Minister for Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme, will now be Advisor to Chief Minister, Haryana Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Swach Bharat Abhiyan. He will also coordinate the recently introduced monthly competition for best performance villages and wards with immediate effect.
PUBLIC HOLIDAY: The Haryana Government has notified that August 5,2016 shall be observed as a public holiday in its  public offices on the occasion of Hariyali Teej.
VIDHAN SABHA SUMMONED: Haryana Vidhan Sabha has been summoned to meet in the hall of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Vidhan Bhawan, sector 1, Chandigarh at 2.00 pm on Friday, August 19, 2016.
