CHANDIGARH, JULY 15
Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said that State Government has decided to provide Primary Teachers (PRT) and Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) an opportunity to clear the Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test (HTET) examination by April 1, 2018, as also given to school lecturers selected on the basis of experience.
He said that in 2013-14, the previous government had, while giving a one-time concession in HTET to PGT, PRT and TGT teachers, imposed a condition in the service rules to clear HTET examination by April 1, 2015.
He said that in 2012, Directorate of Secondary Education had notified the service rules of teachers and lecturers of all categories at its own level. On September 12, 2014, the Directorate of Secondary Education had got notified amended rules, according to which the lecturers had to clear the examination by April 1, 2018 instead of April 1, 2015. The Directorate had not got this amendment made in the service rules of PRTs. However, now PRTs and TGTs could also clear the examination by April 1, 2018, he added.
PENSION AT PAR: Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma has announced that retired lecturers of aided colleges would be given pension at par with retired lecturers of government colleges.
He said that now the retired lecturers of aided colleges would also get pension according to the rules provided for retired lecturers of government colleges by the Government on February 6, 2015.
He said that this demand of the lecturers had been pending for a long time which had now been fulfilled by the present State Government.
SCHOOL UPGRADED: Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma also announced that the primary school in village Somakhera-Katopuri in district Rewari, which was upgraded to middle school, has now been upgraded up to Class X plus two.
He said that Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, had earlier given approval to upgrade the primary school to middle level by relaxing rules of School Education Department. This school has now been further upgraded on the request of Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh and Cooperation Minister, Mr. Bikram Singh.
He said that orders have been issued to District Elementary Education Officer to promptly make the upgraded school functional. He also urged the villagers to end their agitation in view of the children’s education.
