Haryana to recurit 1,500 drivers and 930 conductors

CHANDIGARH, AUG 8
Haryana Transport Department has initiated the   process to recruit 1,500 drivers, 930 conductors and 951 technical staff so as to overcome the shortage of staff.
          While giving this information here today, the Transport Minister Mr. Krishan Lal Panwar said that the recruitment has been started following   the talks held with representatives of various unions of the employees. He said that   2,390 new drivers were required in the department by March 31, 2017, of which recruitment process for 413 drivers had been completed. With the recruitment of 1,500 new drivers, the department would have 1,913 new drivers and the problem of shortage of drivers would be resolved to some extent. More drivers would be recruited by March 31, 2017, he added.
          He said that soon 300 new buses would be added to the fleet of the department. The procedure to purchase these buses would be completed in the meeting of High Power purchase committee to be held during this month. There is a target to include 1,000 new buses in the fleet by March 31, 2017.
          He  directed the officers of the department to delete   the word ‘SPL’ attached with drivers and conductors who were recruited after 2003 and give them the benefit of NPS   with  salary of August   due in September, pay  pending bonus of 2014-15 and uniform allowance for 2013-14 and take action on other demands already accepted.
PAY COMMISSION RECOMMENTATIONS: The high-level committee, set up by the Haryana Government to examine the Seventh Central Pay Commission recommendations, the decisions taken by the Central Government, and devise modalities for their implementation in the state, will hold its first meeting in Chandigarh on August 11.
    Headed by the Chief Secretary, Mr D.S. Dhesi, the committee has been asked to finalize its recommendations by September 30, 2016.
    Mr. P. Raghvendra Rao, Additional Chief Secretary, Town and Country Planning Department, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Mr. P.K. Das, Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Department, will be members of the committee.  Mrs Ashima Brar, Special Secretary, Home Department (Home-II), will be its member-secretary.
FREE SEWING MACHINES: With a view to make girls self reliant, Haryana government would soon provide automatic sewing machines free of cost to girls getting training in sewing in all tailoring training centers being run by the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Department.
          This was stated by Haryana Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr Krishan Kukmar Bedi while speaking in Kurukshetra today.
        He said that not only this, now the amount of scholarship   given  to girls undergoing one year training at these centres would be increased to Rs 600 from Rs 100 per student. Similarly, the amount for the purchase of raw material would also be increased to Rs 500 from Rs 150. Apart from this, such girls would be provided loan of up to Rs two lakh to enable them avail of the employment opportunities.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO PILGRIMS: Haryana Government has notified Swarn Jayanti Swarn Jayanti Guru Darshan Yatra Scheme, 2016 to provide financial assistance to the pilgrims of the State for visiting Sri Hazoor Sahib Gurudwara (Nanded Sahib), Sri Nankana Sahib, Sri Hemkunt Sahib and Sri Patna Sahib.
          While stating this today, Tourism Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said that financial assistance of upto Rs 6,000 or 50 per cent of the actual expenditure per person, whichever is less, would be provided to a maximum of 50 pilgrims who are residents of the State.
          He said that this assistance would be provided on submission of the application within two months of the completion of the Yatra through the State or Central Government or Society to the Director, Tourism, Haryana. Such applicants should have completed the Yatra through the State or Central Government or Society and completion certificate in this regard must be submitted by the Government or the Society and enclosed with the application. The financial assistance would be given only once to a pilgrim, he added.
