Haryana's plea for railway line from Farukhnagar to Charkhi

Chandigarh, Oct  3 –
Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has urged the Union Railways Minister, Mr Suresh Prabhu to  issue directions for inclusion of construction of a new railway line from Farukhnagar to Charkhi Dadri via Jhajjar in railway work programme.
In his demi official letter addressed to the Union Railways Minister, the Chief Minister drew his kind attention to the fact that despite being on the railways map of India, Farukhnagar and Charkhi Dadri, the soon to be 22nd district of Haryana, have no direct rail connectivity.
The Chief Minister mentioned that at present Farukhnagar is connected by rail from Gurgaon and Charkhi Dadri from Bhiwani and Rewari. There is huge public demand for construction of a direct railway line from Farukhnagar to Charkhi Dadri via Jhajjar, which is already connected by rail from Rohtak and Rewari. The new railway line would also help in decongestion of traffic in the National Capital Region and in diverting railway traffic during maintenance and other situations, he added.
