CHANDIGARH, NOV 3
The Haryana Governor, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, has said that democracy is the best system of governance which needs political parties. But, for the success of this system, the political parties should be aware about the direction they are heading for.
Addressing a conference of Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), former MLAs, current and former MPs at Panchkula, near here, today, Prof Solanki said the country should be supreme in the eyes of all political parties. Only then the country could become an empowered nation.
Referring to the Swarna Jayanti celebrations of Haryana, the Governor said it was a matter of pride for him that the celebrations were being held during his tenure as Governor of the sttae. "I have seen the structure of the programmes to be organized during the year, and on the basis of which, I can say that people entering the state from any direction after one year would be able to get a glimpse of its glorious cultural heritage", he added.
The slogan ‘Haryana Ek Haryanvi Ek’ patterned on the ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’ of the Central Government, would open a new chapter of love, harmony and brotherhood in the state. He urged the political parties to discharge their responsibilities and ensure success of the Swarna Jayanti Programmes.
Prof Solanki said that the celebrations of 50 years of the state offered an occasion to introspect whether we have achieved what our great personalities who played a vital role in the creation of the state had envisaged. It is a matter of pride that by following their path, Haryana has been included in the list of developed states. But, participation of people is must to take it further on the path of development, he added.
