CHANDIGARH, NOV 7
Mining activity at Khanak Pahari in Tosham, Bhiwani district, is set to be resumed after a gap of 10 years, before December 1, 2016. Small plots would be created in the area for this purpose. This was announced by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, while addressing a public meeting at Tosham, today.
He also announced various developmental projects to the tune of Rs 250 crore for the area, apart from Rs 20 crore for the Assembly constituency. As many as 38 canals would be renovated at a cost of Rs 129 crore to meet the requirement for water in Tosham region. Estimates in this regard have already been sent and work would start soon on this project.
The Chief Minister said that on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Ambedkar Bhawans would be set up in 20 villages of the Assembly constituency. Apart from this, Gram Sachivalayas and community centres would also be set up in 10 villages each.
Health centres at Kairu and Tosham would be reconstructed at a cost of Rs 10.50 crore, new hospital would be opened at Pinjokhra, power lines would be replaced in the constituency at a cost of Rs 4.50 crore, new minor would be constructed at a cost of Rs 26 crore, roads narrower than 18 feet would be made pucca, and girls college would be set up in Kairu.
Mr Manohar Lal inaugurated projects worth about Rs 20 crore, including new bus-stand at Tosham, Government College for Women at Bawani Khera; and link road from village Bhagvi to Loharwala, besides laying the foundation stone of link road from Lilas to Gurera.
Expressing grief over the sad demise of ex-serviceman Ram Kishan of village Bamla, the Chief Minister gave the assurance that the state government would resolve all grievances of ex-servicemen. The demand for ‘One Rank-One Pension’ was raised during the tenure of the then Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, and in 25 years, only Rs 500 crore was given for the purpose.
However, the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, implemented this announcement as soon as he came to power and a sum of Rs 5,600 crore has so far been given under this scheme. Provision of Rs 9,000 crore has been made for implementation of the scheme, he added.
He said that the BJP had, for the first time, come to power in the state two years ago with the mandate to change the system. While complete transformation had not yet been achieved, the present government has managed to win the trust of the people by achieving many milestones, such as transparent recruitment in government jobs on merit basis, improvement in sex ratio and implementation of policies for the welfare of farmers, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and other sections of the society.
Haryana would be made kerosene-free by March, 2017. The government would also provide grants to such farmers as adopt sprinkler and drip irrigation methods in Tosham, he added.
Referring to the success of the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, he said that village Jui Khurd had registered sex ratio of 1,454 females per 1,000 males. He also felicitated sarpanch of the village, Mrs. Rooppati, for this achievement.
