Navy to conduct free health camp in Amarpur

CHANDIGARH, NOV 18
As a part of the Navy Week-2016 celebrations, the Indian Navy would conduct a free health camp for the general public at Government Senior Secondary School, village Amarpur in district Palwal from November 19 to 21, 2016.
          While stating this today, a spokesman of the Indian Navy said that the camp would be inaugurated by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Sunil Lanba, PVSM, AVSM, ADC on November 19.
        He said that a medical team consisting of 14 specialists and super-specialty medical officers in various fields of medicine and 24 para-medical staff from the premier Naval Hospital INHS Asvini at Mumbai would conduct out-patient consultation for medical, surgical, gynaecology, pediatrics, eye, ENT, skin, cardiology and endocrinology ailments. The camp would also have a dental chair and would be supported by laboratory, ultrasonography and pharmacy facilities. There would be facility to screen for cervix and breast cancer in women. The team would also organise health awareness activities through health exhibition. Besides, a booth would be established by the recruiting directorate from which people could avail details of various recruitment procedures for joining the Indian Navy, he added.
ANTI-RABIES VACCINATION: With a view to tackle the menace of stray animals, anti-rabies vaccination  has been administered to 1,71,764 dogs in districts Hisar, Bhiwani, Fatehabad, Jind and Sirsa up to October, 2016. Besides, 39,033 dogs were sterlised   in Hisar division during the same period.
        This was disclosed in a meeting of State Level Monitoring-cum-Coordination Committee held   under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Mr D.S.Dhesi here today to review progress under the Animal Component of National Rabies Control Programme.   This programme is being implemented in the State by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry through the Animal Welfare Board of India.
        It was informed in the meeting that in the initial stage, the sterilisation and vaccination programme had been launched in Hisar division. An agreement was signed with non-governmental organisation Humane Society International   (India) for this purpose. The agreement is valid till March 31, 2017.
        It was informed that budget provision of Rs 30 crore had been made for implementation of the National Rabies Control Programme in the State. Discussion was also held on various aspects related to implementation of the programme in the State.
        Those present in the meeting included Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, Mrs. Rajni Sekhri Sibal, Director, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, Dr. G.S. Jakhar and other senior officers.
