Chandigarh, December 14- There is good news for people of district Nuh as now the Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal has announced that the drivers of district Nuh, who are driving on licenses procured from other states, that their licenses will be made afresh at Gurugram and Rewari after taking driving tests. It was told in the meeting that a large number of people in district Nuh are using HTV licenses procured from other states like Assam, Nagaland, Agra, Manipur, Mathura etc and majority of these licenses have been found to be fake when sent for verification by the Transport department. Besides, Driving Training and Research Institutes would be opened in each district with the assistance of auto mobile companies running in the state.
Apart from this, he also gave in principle approval for setting up of Trauma Centre at Mandikhera for providing immediate assistance to people getting injured in accidents at Gurugram-Alwar Highway.
Mr Manohar Lal was presiding over the 28th Meeting of Mewat Development Board (MDB) organized at Swatantrata Senani Zila Parishad Bhawan in Gurugram today.
The Chief Minister also agreed in-principle to provide similar facilities to the teachers and students of Mewat Model Schools as those provided to their counterparts in government schools. A budget of Rs 1 crore would be given for this to MDB, which runs 8 Mewat Model Schools in district Nuh with about 330 teachers. The Chief Minister also ordered enquiry by the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Revenue in the recruitment of teachers made on October 27, 2014 in Mewat Model School as some members raised questions on these appointments saying that these were made during the promulgation of Model Code of Conduct during last Assembly elections. A total of 22 teachers were issued appointments on that day.
Driving is main source of earning in Mewat region and considering this today the Chief Minister asked the Transport department Authorities to take up registration of such people and then start a drive for conducting their tests for issuing fresh driving Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTV) at Driving Training and Research Institutes of Gurugram and Rewari. The Secretary RTA Nuh will coordinate with his counterparts in these districts. Transport Commissioner Mrs Suprabha Dahiya apprised the meeting that the department has a list of about 10000 such drivers.
In the meeting, it was decided to open an Institute of Driving Training and Research (IDTR) in district Nuh with the assistance of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL). The Ministry of Minority Affairs has approved the project of Rs 13.96 Crore, which will be divided equally between the Central government and the state government. The Chief Minister asked the MSIL to bear the state government’s share under it’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Till the Institute takes its shape, Deputy Commissioner Maniram Sharma offered a place in Rozka Meo for running a temporary Driver Training Institute, which was accepted by the Transport Commissioner who assured to start training within a month. At the same time, the Chief Minister said that a Driving Training and Research Institute will be opened in every district of the state with collaboration of Automobile companies. The issue of opening an IDTR at Gurugram was also discussed, in which the Chief Minister said that it can be established wherever a village panchayat provides 2 acres of land free of cost.
The Member Secretary of the MDB and Divisional Commissioner Gurugram, Dr D Suresh apprised that these schools have 100 percent results and the students are taught in English medium. These schools are affiliated with CBSE and are quite popular in district Nuh. It was told by ACS Public Health Engineering Department Sanjeev Kaushal that a proposed pipe line scheme from village Badli to Gurugram canal, running parallel to KMP E-way will provide 6 MLD water to Nalhar Medical College.
