Prabhu confident that resurgence of India will start from Kurukshetra

The Union Minister of Railways, Mr Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, has expressed the confidence that resurgence of India will start from the holy land of Kurukshetra where the International Gita Mahotsav is being held this year.
He was addressing the valedictory function of International Gita Seminar and Sant Sammelan organized during the International Gita Mahotsav at Kurukshetra, today.
While congratulating the Haryana Government for organizing Gita Jayanti at international level during the state's Swarna Jayanti year, Mr Prabhu said, "Earlier our country was called the golden land. We need to introspect why things changed later. In fact, we have forgotten to walk  the path shown by Sri Krishna through the holy message of Bhadwad Gita. We will try to move on the path shown by Lord Krishna to the humanity. We will restore our old culture and treasure by following the path of Bhadwad Gita in this Swarna Jayanti year", he added.
Speaking on the occasion, the Haryana Governor, Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki, said the message the world needed in the 21st century was being given through the International Gita Mahotsav. The Haryana Government has taken the initiative to show a new way to the entire world with the organization of Gita Mahotsav. This has been quite a success due to the key contribution made by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, and Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj, he added.
The Chief Minister said the state government would work to organise Gita Mahotsav at the same scale every year. This year, as many as 11.5 lakh people have visited the Mahotsav so far. Both the Central and the state government are promoting religious places like Mathura, Kurukshetra and Dwarka. The Central Government has sanctioned a sum of Rs 100 crore for the Krishna Circuit under which places of religious importance would be developed in the state.
Mr Manohar Lal said that global chanting of Srimad Bhagvad Gita would be held on December 10, 2016 in 25 countries at the same time from 6 pm to 6:15 pm to spread the eternal message of Gita in the world. He read out a message from the Prime Minister in which Mr Narendra Modi  congratulated the people and expressed the hope that the International Gita Mahotsav would prove to be helpful in spreading the celestial message of Gita which forms an integral part of Indian culture, in the entire world.
Highlighting the significance of Bhagwad Gita, Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj described Gita as need of the hour. He also congratulated the state government for enhancing the scope of Gita Jayanti to the global level. Yogarishi Swami Ramdev also spoke on the occasion. A booklet containing summary of the international seminar was also released.
Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Acharya Devvrat, Governor of Goa, Mrs Mridula Sinha, Haryana Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma, the Finance Minister, Capt Abhimanyu, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr Krishan Kumar Bedi, State BJP President, Mr Subhash Barala, saints from across the country and other prominent personalities were also present on this occasion.
