CM announces free coaching facility for wards of defence personnel

CHANDIGARH, JAN 26
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal today announced free coaching facility for the wards of defence personnel and those of paramilitary forces to prepare for all competitive exams including those conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC).
The Chief Minister was addressing a largely attended republic day celebrations after unfurling the national flag at Panchkula near here today.
While paying rich tributes to the freedom fighters and martyrs  , the Chief Minister said that the government had prepared a scheme with budget provision of Rs three crore for providing free coaching facility for competitive exams of IAS, IPS, RCS, HPS, Engineering, Medical, NDA and Banks to the children of serving soldiers as well as the ex-sevicemen.
Reiterating his government's commitment for the welfare of the ex-servicemen and serving soldiers, Mr Manohar Lal said that the brave soldiers and martyrs have laid down their lives for the unity and integrity of the country. The State Government has also set  up a separate Department of Sainik Welfare to provide various services to Ex-Servicemen of the State in a more efficient and effective manner. He said that the present state government had so far given exgratia employment to 101 dependents. Also, the government had revised the scholarship for the cadets studying in Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun, from Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000 per annum, he added.
While congratulating the people on this occasion, he said that the present government is ensuring all round development in the state with the mantra of Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas. The government has introduced 170 e-services of 23 departments so that people could get various services at their door step. The winds of change have been blowing in the State as a result of the efforts being made by the Government for the last 27 months. The present government has been working for the welfare of farmers. Under the vision of Gram Uday se Bharat Uday, he said that the State government is in the process to transfer various kinds of services with budgetary provision to the Pranchayati Raj Institutions   so as to ensure their empowerment. He also highlighted the new initiatives and various other programmes being implemented  for the welfare of all sections of the society.
The Chief Minister also took salutes from the contingents of police, home guards and NCC among others who participated in the Republic Day parade. He also honoured the freedom fighter, Mr Des Raj Pardesi and widows of martyrs on this occasion.
He announced to give Rs five lakh for the welfare of under training women constables who had performed   PT show on this occasion. He also announced five day holiday for them during their training period. In addition, the Chief Minister also announced to give Rs 50,000 each for the Haryana Orchestra and Haryana Kala Parishad and announced two days holiday for the schools who   participated in the cultural programme. Apart from this, the Chief Minster honoured all those who bagged first, second and third positions and other participants  of cultural programme.
Member of Parliament, Mr. Ratan Lai Kataria, MLA Kalka, Mrs. Latika Sharma, Media Advisor to Chief Minister, Mr. Amit Arya, Mayor Municipal Corporation, Mrs. Upender Kaur Ahluwalia, District BJP President, Mr. Deepak Sharma, Chairpersons, Zila Parishad, Mrs. Ritu Singla, Police Commissioner, Dr. R.C. Mishra, Deputy Commissioner, Mrs. Gauri Prashar Joshi, District President BJP Youth Wing, Mr. Yogender Sharma, Member Shivalik Vikas Board, Mr. Shyam Lai Bansal and  officers of defence forces and district administration were also present.
