Haryana to honour 100 teachers subject-wise

 CHANDIGARH, JAN 18
The Haryana Government would felicitate 100 teachers subject-wise for their excellent performance in the field of education during the Swarna Jayanti Year of the State.
        This was disclosed by Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma, who was speaking after conferring ‘Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar-2016’ upon 142 schools of the State, at Panchkula, near here, today. He also released a booklet ‘Swachh Vidyalaya, Swachh Vidyarthi’.
       The Education Minister awarded 25 schools in the ‘Green Rank’ and 117 in the ‘Blue Rank’. The schools in Green Rank included six rural elementary schools, 13 rural secondary schools, one urban elementary school and five urban secondary schools. Similarly, schools in Blue Rank included 52 rural elementary schools, 49 rural secondary schools, six urban elementary schools and 10 urban secondary schools. These awards were conferred after assessment of cleanliness in schools on the basis of the rules of Union Ministry of Human Resource Development.
        He said that the ‘Swachhta Abhiyaan’ launched by Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, had now become a mission. He also urged the students to undertake regular maintenance of cleanliness in their surroundings.
        Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Department, Mr. P.K. Das, urged the teachers of other schools to maintain cleanliness in their schools as well.
SOLAR ENERGY DEVICES: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has given approval for installation of solar energy devices in all 25,962 anganwadi centres in the State at a cost of Rs 44 crore.
        This was disclosed by Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs. Kavita Jain, today.
        She said that this scheme would reduce electricity bills of anganwadi centres by Rs 12 crore annually and fans and LED lights would be installed in the centres. The use of solar energy to run three LED lights and two fans would be encouraged in anganwadi centres, she added.
        The Minister said that the scheme has been prepared for adoption of anganwadi centres under ‘Hamari Phulwari Yojana’ for providing facilities to children coming to the centres.
