Bill to set up industry on panchayati lands.

CHANDIGARH, FEB 18
The Haryana Government would soon introduce a bill in the Vidhan Sabha to provide for setting up of industry on the panchayati lands.
          This was disclosed by the Industries Minister, Mr Vipul Goel, while interacting with mediapersons in Fatehabad today. After the bill is voted, industries would flourish even in the far-flung areas.
       The Industries and Commerce Department is preparing a scheme to promote cotton industry in the districts of Fatehabad, Sirsa and Bhiwani and suggestions have been invited from various industrialists. Funds to the tune of Rs 248 crore have been released recently for expansion of the basic facilities in industrial areas of six districts. Besides, Rs 750 crore is being sought for sewerage and water. A survey is being conducted for various services in the industrial areas of different districts, including Fatehabad, Mr Goel added.
          In a reply to a question, the Industries Minister said the government had set a target of bringing investment of Rs 1 lakh crore and providing employment to four lakh youths in the state. The Happening Haryana Summit and the Pravasi Haryana Divas were organised to achieve this target.
          Various industrial groups have signed 589 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the state government out of which work has been initated on 140. He expressed the hope that after implementation of all the MoUs, Haryana would emerge as an industrially developed state in the country.
