Haryana budget crosses mark of Rs one lakh crore

CHANDIGARH, MARCH 7
Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that it is for the first time that the budget of the State has crossed the mark of Rs one lakh crore and added that budget outlay in all areas has been increased.
          Mr, Manohar Lal who was interacting with the media persons during the ongoing session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today was asked to comment on the statement made by the members of opposition parties that in the budget for the year 2017-18, allocation of funds in some areas has been reduced. The Chief Minister made it clear that there is no area in which budget has been reduced.
          In reply to a question concerning the dispute between two communities in village Sagga, district Karnal over performing ghurchari ritual, the Chief Minister said that the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Mr Krishan Kumar and MLA Mr Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi who were rushed to the village today had a dialogue with members of both the communities and it is hoped that the issue would soon be resolved and those who had migrated from the village would soon return.
          Asked to comment on the other measures being taken by the State Government for the early resolution of the issue, the Chief Minister said that we have constituted a 21-member committee and the members are trying to resolve the issue through dialogue. Apart from this, the concerned Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police are persuading the members of both the communities to resolve the issue. The Chief Minister hoped that irrespective of fault of any group, the issue would be resolved through mutual consent.
MAKING KU FINANCIALLY STRONG:  Haryana Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma said that the Central and State Governments are considering to enhance the grant to make Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra financially strong.
        The Education Minister, who was replying to a question raised by MLA, Mr. Subhash Sudha, in Budget Session of Vidhan Sabha here today, said that the University has distinct identity in the State as well as in the country.
        Replying to another question, the Minister said that so far there is no plan to get any B.Ed college or any technical colleges, which is presently affiliated with Kurukshetra University, affiliated to any other university.
        In a written reply to a question raised by MLA, Mrs. Latika Sharma, the Minister said that on February 20, 2017, the State Government had issued directions regarding relaxation in norms for opening and upgradation of government schools in Morni block of Kalka Assembly Constituency.
Meanwhile Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma said that the State Government would sympathetically consider to continue to retain the services of 1055 Revenue Patwaris selected in 1999.
        Mr. Sharma gave this information while replying to a question raised by MLA, Mrs. Kiran Choudhry, in Budget Session of Vidhan Sabha here today.
