64.14 MT of wheat arrives in Haryana mandis

CHANDIGARH,  APRIL 25
 In Haryana, over 64.14 lakh Metric Tonnes (MT) of wheat has arrived in mandis till yesterday during the ongoing Rabi Season, whereas over 59.31 lakh MT of wheat arrived during the corresponding period last year.
          While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that over 64.10 lakh MT have been procured by five government procurement agencies at Minimum Support Price, whereas 4,086 MT of wheat has been procured by traders.
          Giving details of the wheat procured by government agencies, he said that more than 22.55 lakh MT of wheat has been procured by HAFED, whereas Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has procured more than 15.78 lakh MT of wheat. He said that Food Corporation of India has procured more than 7.75 lakh MT of wheat, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation has procured more than 5.90 lakh MT and more than 12.10 lakh MT of wheat has been procured by Haryana Warehousing Corporation.

          He said that district Sirsa was leading in wheat arrival where more than 8.46 lakh MT of wheat has so far arrived in the mandis followed by district Karnal which has recorded arrival of more than 6.80 lakh MT. Similarly, more than 6.44 lakh MT of wheat has arrived in district Jind, more than 6.23 lakh MT in district Kaithal, more than 5.81 lakh MT in district Fatehabad, more than 4.55 lakh MT in district Kurukshetra, more than 3.95 lakh MT in district Hisar, more than 3.65 lakh MT in district Sonepat, more than 2.83 lakh MT in district Palwal, more than 2.60 lakh MT in district Panipat and more than 2.39 lakh MT in district Ambala.
          He said that similarly, more than 2.23 lakh MT of wheat has arrived in district Rohtak, more than 1.97 lakh MT in district Yamunanagar, more than 1.55 lakh MT in district Bhiwani, more than 1.31 lakh MT in district Jhajjar, 96,314 MT in district Faridabad, 77,842 MT in district Mewat, 61,488 MT in district Gurugram, 33,989 MT in district Rewari, 31,841 MT in district Panchkula and 27,260 MT in Narnaul.
