711 students shortlisted during HSBTE job fair

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 10
 As many as 711 students have been shortlisted, with the highest package of Rs six lakh offered by Trident Group and average package of Rs 1.5 lakh, in job fair organised by Haryana State Board of Technical Education (HSBTE) in collaboraton with Confederation of Indian Industry for polytechnic students (2017 passouts) of ten districts namely Hisar, Sirsa, Rohtak, Jind, Bhiwani, Fatehabad, Mahendragarh, Sonepat, Panipat and Jhajjar, at Government Polytechnic, Hisar recently.
        While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Board said that 1,200 students from different streams such as mechanical engineering, automobile engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, plastic technology, finance accounting and auditing, instrumentation and control,library and information science, office management and computer applications, and medical lab technology from all government, government-aided aided polytechnics in the state and 61 private polytechnics from the ten districts  participated in this job fair.
        As many as 30 companies took written tests and interviews during the job fair. The multinational and national companies which participated in the placement drive include Tata Motors, Jay Bharat Maruti, Eureka Forbes Limited, India Nippon Electricals Ltd., Investors Clinic Infratech Pvt. Ltd., Munjal Showa, Muthoot Finance, Path Finders, Power Care System, Sodexo Facility Management Services Pvt. Ltd, Subros Limited, Trident Group, Vikas group, Subinfra, Goela Engineers, G K Medical Equipment, Om Logistics, CaparoMaruti, Ronch Polymers and Navbharat Fertilisers.
        He said that job placement drive was also organised at Government Polytechnic, Sampla, Government Polytechnic, Bhiwani and CRP Rohtak, wherein final year students from various polytechnics participated and many got selected.
He said that the candidates who attended the placement drive were very enthusiastic about the employment opportunities made available to them at one location and appreciated the efforts of HSBTE.
He said that the Board would organise such zonal placement drives at regular intervals with the goal of providing placement to eligible students and encouraging interaction between the industry and the students. Besides, taking feedback from the industry, the Board would soon introduce National Skill Qualification Framework-aligned curriculum and also impart soft skill training to all its students to enable them to build their careers in technical fields, he added.
