Haryana to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21

The  Haryana Government has decided to celebrate third International Yoga Day at district level and sub division level on June 21, 2017. Apart from this, yoga training programmes would also be organised from June 1 to 15 for imparting training to those participating in the International Yoga Day.
        While stating this here today, Haryana Health and AYUSH Minister, Mr. Anil Vij said that on the occasion of International Yoga Day, the ministers of the State Government would be chief guests in each district. He said that it has been decided that 2,100 persons in each district, including school and college children, scouts and guides, universities, yoga institutions, gurukuls, police personnel, NCC cadets and NSS, Nehru Yuva Kendras and general public would participate. Similarly, 500 persons in each sub-division would participate in the function, he added.
       He said that to facilitate the participants, screens would be erected in the stadium for live demo by yoga instructors during 60-minutes of function. AYUSH yoga experts, patanjali yoga instructors, yoga teachers from schools and colleges, and Sport Department would guide and supervise the people performing yoga. He said that prior to June 21, one week open yoga camp would be arranged in all district stadia.
        He said that yoga marathon would be organised by district administration on June 20 at 7a.m., in which schools, colleges, gurukuls, universities, general public, yoga institutions, police personnel, NCC cadets, NSS, Nehru Yuva Kendras, scouts and guides would participate. Participating school children would be holding placards in their hands with slogans on yoga, he added.
        He said that seminars and workshops on theme ‘Yoga in Holistic Health Care’ would be organised by Deputy Commissioners alongwith District Education Officers, District AYUSH Officers and Sports Department on June 21 after morning yoga session. Adequate arrangements would also be made for drinking water, security and traffic management and refreshment. He said that white t-shirts for school children would be provided by the District Administrations, he added.
        Giving details about the yoga training programme to be organised before International Yoga Day, he said that training would be imparted to PTIs and DPIs in stadia of each district from June 1 to 3. Similarly from June 5 to 7, training would be provided to all schools in each district, from June 9 to 11, training would be provided to all administrative officers at sub-division, tehsil and block level, officers and employees of other departments, sarpanch, panch, other elected members, officers and officials of police department, NCC cadets, scouts and guides and other interested persons. He said that from June 13 to 15, training would be imparted to ministers of the State Government, Members of Parliament, MLAs, Administrative Secretaries, officers and officials of other departments, elected members, police personnel, NCC cadets, NSS, staff of Nehru Yuva Kendras, scouts and guides, and other interested persons. Besides, pilot rehearsal of the programme would be held in all districts from 7a.m. to 8a.m. on June 19, he added.
