Haryana to start Police Cadet Corps course

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 6
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that a new course of Police Cadet Corps (PCC) would be started in the State on the pattern of National Cadet Corps (NCC). Apart from this, Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai in Sonipat would be upgraded as a Sports University. 
          Mr Manohar Lal was speaking at the inaugural session of five-day Netritva Sadhna Parshikshan Shivar being organized in Panchkula near here today. The Parshikshan Shivar is being organized jointly by Haryana Government and Prabodhni, Panchkula, in which youth representatives from various states of the country are participating. 
          The Chief Minister said that youth play a vital role in taking the country ahead on the path of development. He said that this training camp would provide an appropriate platform to deliberate upon various issues including honing-up leadership skill in the youth and apprise them of their responsibilities towards the society. This, he said would prove to be a milestone in re-building a new society and nation.
          He said that the State Government is making persistent efforts to make available qualitative education to the students. Besides, new schemes have been started for the welfare and development of youth. With a view to impart skill education to the youth, it has been decided to open country’s first University of Skill Development in the State. Apart from this, ‘Catch them Young’ nurseries would be opened in more than 500 schools so as to honing the talent of students’ right from the early age. Also, Vyayamshalas in villages and Open Gym in the cities were being opened to channelize the energy of youth in right direction. The aim behind carrying out all these activities is to ensure that the youth of the State is well educated and physically fit and rich in creative thinking, he added.          
          He exhorted the participants to get training with utmost dedication and seriousness during the training camp keeping in view the social perspective in mind. He reminded that such type of training programme for the youth was started by Prabodhni on the occasion of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand. He said that the youth should draw inspiration from the life of Swami Vivekanand and continue to move ahead towards their goal till they achieve it. 
          Chairman, Tourism Department, Mr Jagdish Chopra welcomed the participants from different states of the country who converged at the training camp in large numbers and said that today India is progressing fast to become the leading country in the world. The contribution of the  youth in this direction is laudable, he added. 
          He said that the Netritva Sadhna Parshikshan Shivar would not only help in honing-up leadership skills among the youth but would also provide a new direction to them. 
          Earlier, Mr Ravinder Sathe, on behalf of Prabodhni, welcomed the Chief Minister and outlined various activities to be undertaken during the training camp. 
          Among those present on this occasion included MLA Panchkula Mr Gian Chand Gupta, President, BJP Chandigarh Mr Sanjay Tondon and large number of participants.
