Czech Ambassador evinces keen interest in culture and customs of Haryana


CHANDIGARH, JULY 6
 The Ambassador of Czech Republic to India, Mr. Milan Hovorka today called on Haryana Governor, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki at Haryana Raj Bhavan here.
        Mr. Milan Hovorka informed the Governor that a number of Indians were living in the Czech Republic and various Hindi films were also being shot there. He also showed some clips of a film shooting on his mobile phone.
        Discussing various issues at length with the Ambassador, Prof. Solanki informed Mr. Hovorka that Haryana was famous for agriculture as the State has very fertile land, availability of water and a hard-working farming community. The Governor suggested that partnership be strengthened in agri-related ventures, especially food processing which has major scope for collaboration. 
        Mr. Milan Hovorka evinced keen interest in the culture and customs of Haryana. Secretary to Governor, Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal, was also present on the occasion.
The Czech Republic has evinced keen interest in investing in Haryana in aerospace, defence and auto manufacturing sectors.
        Meanwhile Mr. Milan Hovorka, called on Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Mr. Vipul Goel, here today to discuss possibilities for cooperation in various sectors.
        During the meeting, it was discussed that industries in the Czech Republic could be invited for setting up aerospace and defence facilities in the upcoming integrated aviation hub at Hisar.
        As Haryana has three flying clubs, world-class flying training facilities could be developed in collaboration with Czech institutions imparting such training. Presently, trainee pilots have to travel to Prague for such training.
        Discussion was also held regarding possibility of inviting Czech companies to set up auto and auto ancillary units in Haryana. Czech automobile giant Skoda presently has two plants at Pune and Aurangabad.
        As a cultural exchange initiative, Haryana could also host the Czech philharmonic orchestra for one performance in Chandigarh during their tour to India in January, 2018.
        Mr. Milan Hovorka also invited the Industries Minister to visit the Czech Republic in October, 2017 for the industries fair to be held there. India is a partner state in this trade fair.
