On-line bidding for purchase of apple

CHANDIGARH, JULY 25
Within a few days, Himachal apple will reach in the every corner of the country through Panchkula apple market. The traders and businessmen from far-flung areas will not have to visit Panchkula for the purchase of apple, as the purchase of apple can be made through on-line bidding. 
          This was stated by Chief Administrator, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Mr Mandeep Brar while interacting with farmers and traders at apple market, Panchkula near here today. 
          He said that it is a good indication for the farmers of the state that 2000 boxes of apples arrived in the apple market every day in the beginning of the season. It is expected that this figure would be up to one lakh boxes in the entire season, which will prove to be a milestone in apple business in the state.
          He said that with the facilities provided, the local apple market have overtaken the neighboring states in the first year of its establishment. He said that Board will try hard to develop the apple market as per the National and International norms. He also sought suggestions from farmers and traders to improve the functioning of apple market.
          He said that Agriculture Department's is working with a vision that farmers get remunerative prices of their produce. With this thought, all the mandis were being connected online.
