IT and ESDM policy to attract Rs 20,000 crore and generate employment opportunities

CHANDIGARH, SEPT 15
Haryana hopes to attract investment of Rs 20,000 crore besides generating employment opportunities for about 1.2 lakh youth with the launch of the IT and ESDM policy today. Haryana is the first state in the country to launch such policy.
This was disclosed by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, while addressing a press conference after the launch of IT and ESDM policy by the Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Mr Ravi Shankar Prasad at Digital Haryana Summit, in Gurugram today.
Haryana is the first state in the country to come up with maiden Cyber Security Policy. It seeks to ensure that critical IT and Information Communication Technology (ICT) information is protected from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, modification, and disposal, whether intentionally or unintentionally.
The Chief Minister said the state government had also launched SARAL portal under which citizens could track more than 130 services through websites and SMS. Similarly, HARPATH portal has been launched for mapping the damage to and repair of the roads. Anyone can apprise the department concerned about the damage caused to roads just by posting a photograph on the portal, he added.
In reply to a question, the Chief Minister said the state government had embarked upon a three-pronged drive to check pollution in Gurugram town. With the start of Kundli-Manesar section of the KMP Expressway by the end of this year, traffic movement in the town would decrease considerably and air pollution minimized.
Similarly, 25 CNG pumps would start functioning in Gurugram in one year and this would give big relief from vehicle pollution. Construction and development works are being carried out on a large scale in the town to ensure smooth movement of traffic. Once these are completed, there would be great relief from traffic congestion as well as air pollution. The government has also launched Green Gurugram scheme, he said.
In reply to another question, the Chief Minister said the government would provide all kinds of facilities to realise the Memorandums of Understanding exchanged under the IT and ESDM policy. “We have also started the process of skill development of youth in IT and other sectors through Vishwakarma Skill Development University”, he added.
Asked to comment on the proposed film policy, the Chief Minister said it was ready and would be launched in a month’s time.

Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today launched HARPATH portal for the mapping of roads in the State.
Mr Manohar Lal launched the portal in the presence of Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Mr Ravi Shankar Prasad during the Haryana Digital Summit-2017 in Gurugram today.
The Chief Minister said that with the help of this App, people could give information to the government about the condition of the road. On receiving the information, the government would ensure the repair of roads and remove obstacles in the smooth flow of traffic if any, at the earliest. If concrete action is not taken on the feedback of the people in the prescribed time, responsibility would be fixed for the same, he added.
