Haryana plans ro itroduce MSP for vegetables

CHANDIGARH, NOV 16
Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that government plans to introduce minimum support price (MSP) for vegetables to ensure that the farmers get fair price for their produce in the state.
He was speaking after receiving the India Today State of States Award in the inclusive growth and tourism development category from the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Mr Nitin Gadkari, at the India Today State of the States Conclave 2017 ceremony in New Delhi, today.
During his speech, he touched upon various issues and subjects. “We are following the Antodaya philosophy, propounded by Pandit  Deendayal Upadhyay, as a model for inclusive development since it makes the benefits of social welfare schemes reach the last person in the society”.
Referring to the steps taken to weed out corruption from employment and ensuring jobs only on the basis of merit, he said this had made the youth of Haryana optimistic and encouraged him to turn to education and learning to prepare for competitive examinations.
“A new Chief Minister of a first-time party in power gets only three years to work. First two years go into undoing the wrongs of the previous government. So actually, my government has worked only for one year and achieved so much. You can imagine what Haryana would be after the next two years”, he said.
Stressing the need for rising above political considerations of the past to ensure all-round development of the state, the Chief Minister said, “I have visited all the 90 assembly constituencies of his state to ensure uniform development of each part of Haryana.”
Mr Manohar Lal said his government had set up a Pond Management Authority to preserve and manage 14,000 ponds in the state so that they could be used for irrigation. Our government is committed to equitable distribution of irrigation water. We are promoting drip irrigation for better results.
He said that as a result of the concerted efforts of the state government and active support and cooperation of the people, sex ratio in the state has improved considerably.
