HSSPP to organise school band competition

CHANDIGARH, NOV 10
 Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad (HSSPP) is organising a State Level Schools Band Competition at Saarthak Government Integrated Model Senior Secondary School, Panchkula on November 14, 2017. As many as 13 school band groups of boys and girls selected out of the entire schools of the state would participate in this Competition. 
          While stating this here today, Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Department, Dr. K.K. Khandelwal said that of these schools, DAV Centenary Public School (Sirsa), Holy Child Public School (Faridabad), Supreme Senior Secondary School (Jind), Maharaja Agrasain Girls Senior Secondary School (Sirsa), Arya Bhatt High School (Fatehabad), Vaish Model Senior Secondary School (Bhiwani), Government Senior Secondary School Bunga (Panchkula) and Aggarsain Public School (Kurukshetra) are under boys category and Police DAV Public School (Ambala), St. Joseph School (Ambala), Vidya Devi Jindal School (Hissar), Saarthak Government Integrated Model Senior Secondary School (Panchkula) and Arya Bhatt High School (Fatehabad) are under girls category.
          He said that students of both government and private schools would participate in this Competition. The decision to organise the Competition had been taken on the initiation and directions of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development. The Band Competition at Zonal and National level would also be held as planned by the Ministry.
          Dr. Khandelwal said that necessary directions had already been issued to District Education Officers and District Elementary Education Officers to organise the Competition in three phases. He said that two wining boys and girls band groups at State Level would participate in the Zonal Level Competition. He said that Zonal Level winners will participate in the National Level Competition and the National Level winning teams would have the opportunity to present their performance on the eve of next Republic Day Celebrations at New Delhi. 
          State Project Director, Dr. S. S. Phulia said that after Inter School Band Competition on November 14, six Zonal Level Competitions would be held on December 15. The best winning Zonal level teams of both boys and girls would be declared onDecember 20, 2017 and cash prizes ranging from Rs. 5,000 to 10,000 would be given to them. At Zonal Level Competition, the Haryana State would complete with band teams of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. At the National Level, the winner teams in the boys and girls categories will be awarded cash prizes ranging from Rs 10,000 to 20,000, he added.
