Mahendergarh Mining Officer suspended

CHANDIGARH, NOV 13
While taking a serious note of a complaint concerning illegal mining, the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, today suspended District Mining Officer, Mahendergarh. He also ordered suspension of a bus conductor following a complaint of eve-teasing.
Redressing the grievances of people at a janta darbar held at Narnaul in Mahendergarh today, he said the present state government had adopted  zero tolerance policy on corruption. He directed officers to complete the works of public welfare on time, and told officers  of the Public Health Engineering Department to immediately lodge an FIR against those who grilled illegal connections in the water pipeline.
Later, while addressing media persons, the Chief Minister said an authority had been constituted for rejuvenation of 14,000 ponds to recharge water in the state. The state government would also build nine dams in the Shivalik area to store water during the rainy season so that it could be utilized for irrigation and other purposes.
The present government has provided water right up to the tail-ends in southern Haryana. A Rs 143-crore lift irrigation project has also been revived for this area. The capacity of canals has been increased which led to water reaching the tail-ends in the district.
In reply to a question, the Chief Minister said line losses of power corporations had been brought down to 24 per cent from 30 per cent after the formation of the government. This has saved Rs 12,000 crore. Any feeder recording less than 20 per cent line loss would get 24-hour electricity. “We have provided 24-hour electricity in four districts of the state and it is our endeavor to stop power theft within two years, so that we can provide electricity at low rates to the people”, Mr Manohar Lal added.
The Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma, and Minister of State for Public Health Engineering, Dr. Banwari Lal, MP  Mr Dharambir  Singh, and other prominent people were also present on this occasion.
