Nayab Saini urges employees not to go on strike

CHANDIGARH, NOV 6
Haryana Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Nayab Singh Saini has urged the state government employees not to go on strike keeping in view the public interest and instead go to work and serve the people.
Mr Saini, who was reacting to the call of ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’ given by Haryana Karamchari Mahasangh, today said that in a meeting held between the representatives of the Mahasangh and officers of the state government on September 18, 2017, consensus had achieved on four demands.
While referring to these demands, Mr Saini said that the policy dated June 18, 2014 of the State Government has been stayed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, but there is no bar on regularising the eligible workers under the earlier policy of July 29, 2011 as demanded by the Mahasangh. He said that the state government has issued a notification in this regard on October 18, 2017.
The Minister said that as far as the second demand is concerned, Haryana is the first state in the country to implement ‘equal work-equal pay’ in respect of persons employed under Outsourcing Policy Part-II. Directions have already been issued in this regard, he added.
On the third demand of Mahasangh, he said that the Health Department is in the process of implementing cashless medical facility for the employees of the state government in respect of treatment for life threatening cases of cardiac emergencies, brain haemorrhage, electric shock, coma, third and fourth stage of cancer and accident cases. He hoped that the scheme would be started in the month of November 2017.
While reacting to the fourth demand, the Minister said that the state government has implemented the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission for its employees, whereas Committee constituted regarding the allowances to be given under the 7th Pay Commission has submitted its report to the Finance Minister. He hoped that these allowances would be implemented within this week.
