Quacks' clinics raided; 54 FIRs registered

CHANDIGARH, NOV 9
Acting on the complaints received about quacks running clinics, the Chief Minister’s Flying Squad (CMFS), along with officers of the Health Department, today conducted raids at 147 places all over the state, registered 54 FIRs and arrested 55 quacks and their helpers.
        Stating this here today, an official spokesman said while some of these quacks were operating from their houses, others had opened shops. The CMFS and teams of doctors also recovered some prohibited medicines and other surgical items from these clinics.
        So far, 54 cases have been registered against those quacks who were unable to produce their degrees or relevant documents for running clinics. Raids were still continuing till the filing of this report.
        The spokesman said a maximum of 31 raids were conducted in Gurugram where three FIRs were registered and three persons were arrested followed by 11 raids in Faridabad where 11 FIRs were registered and 11 persons were arrested, and nine raids each were conducted in Panchkula and Sirsa.
While one FIR was registered and one person was arrested in Panchkula, two FIRs were registered and two persons were arrested in Sirsa. Similarly, eight raids each were conducted in Sonepat and Narnaul where eight FIRs were registered and eight persons were arrested and one FIR was registered and one person was arrested, respectively.
        He said seven raids each were conducted in Yamunanagar, Hisar and Jind. While one FIR was registered and one person along with two helpers was arrested in Yamunanagar, two FIRs were registered and two persons were arrested in Hisar and one FIR was registered and one person was arrested in Jind.
   Similarly, six raids each were conducted in Jhajjar and Hansi, and two FIRs were registered and one person was arrested in Jhajjar, and one FIR was registered and one person was arrested in Hansi. He said that five raids each were conducted in Bhiwani and Fatehabad. While five FIRs were registered and five persons were arrested in Bhiwani, no FIR was registered in Fatehabad.
        The spokesman said four raids each were conducted in Ambala, Rohtak, Panipat and Rewari. While four FIRs were registered and three persons were arrested in Ambala, two FIRs were registered and two persons were arrested in Rohtak, four FIRs were registered and four persons were arrested in Panipat and one FIR was registered and one person was arrested in Rewari.
  Three raids each were conducted in Kaithal and Palwal. While one FIR was registered and one person was arrested in Kaithal, no FIR was registered and no person was arrested in Palwal. Two raids each were conducted in Kurukshetra, Karnal and Charkhi Dadri. While one FIR each was registered and one person each was arrested in Kurukshetra and Karnal, two FIRs were registered and two persons were arrested in Charkhi Dadri, the spokesman added.
